The Vintage Fashion Guild (VFG) is an international organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of vintage fashion. Founded in 2002 by a group of vintage sellers, it soon grew into a vintage-fashion knowledge base exceeding any other web-based resource. Their objective then became focused on collecting, organizing, and presenting that information. Those efforts resulted in the first incarnation of the VFG website.
Use Our Patterns For Production. To increase the importance of pattern design skills and applications, we encourage people to use our patterns/products to develop products in their business. If you do so, we'll publicize your clothing lines or how you applied ideas from our books. And, of course, we always want to know about interesting pattern concepts. Established in March of 2011, the Fashion, Textile & Costume (FTC) Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA)is a forum for sharing ideas pertinent to fashion, textile & costume librarianship. Participants will capitalize on the shared experiences and knowledge of the FTC library community. The group is primarily composed of members from academic, public, museum and corporate libraries concerned with developing professional skills in areas such as reference, library instruction, and collection development.

This web is an archive/library devoted to popular fashion from the 1920's through the 1960's and to the designers, models & photographers which inspire us. I started myvintagevogue in November of 2008. Initially it was a small flickr stream with fashion images I liked. As the stream became more popular and I learned more about fashion photography and advertising I realized there needed to be a permanent home for my growing collection thus the site was born.
This "passion project" is from my personal collection of vintage photos, magazines, catalogs and pattern books. I personally scan and restore most of what you see here.
